The Students Going Green™ Handset Drive

The Handset Drive is a recycling and disposal project designed to raise kids' awareness about the need to recycle and properly dispose of cell phone and other batteries to keep them out of the environment.

The Handset Drive will be an interactive activity for kids to collect used batteries for proper recycling or disposal. By participating, school kids will learn the importance of recycling potentially toxic materials to help protect our fragile environment. Each school grade on a district level will be competing against the others. Our GoVios recycling bags will be distributed to each student by their teachers and after a week of collecting used batteries, the kids will place them in their recycle bags and turn them in.The winning group or class of kids that collects the most batteries will be treated to a pizza party or other prizes.

100% of proceeds from the Handset Drive will be donated to The Nature Conservancy and the participating schools.
